2015 GT350 Confirmed Via Ford Dealer Promotional Materials System

The rumors have been swirling for months about the GT350 making a return to the Mustang lineup as a production package rather than the post-title one it had been. While Shelby American has offered GT350s in recent years, those cars were not “production” from Ford, meaning they were sent to Shelby as post-title, and their original titles would reflect that they started life as a Mustang GT not a GT350.

We’ve heard that the GT500’s parting shot may be the 2013-14 models with their incredible Trinity 5.8 engines churning out over 660 hp. That being said the rumor mill has also held that the GT350 would be a return to Shelby’s roots, a lighter Mustang focused more on carving corners than on brute force.

No one at Ford has yet confirmed the GT350 would be available, or any Shelby or SVT oriented model at all, instead they’ve simply redirected us to the three engine line up that will be offered in the 2015 Mustang.

Today SVTPerformance.com is offering us proof that there will in fact be a new GT350 Mustang making it’s way to dealer showrooms. That proof comes in the form of a screenshot from a dealer ordering system for promotional and marketing materials that includes 2015 Mustang promotional materials. Appearing in the list of model information to order materials for is Shelby GT350. If dealers are able to order GT350 materials, then that would confirm the moniker is making a return to the Mustang production line. This is similar to what has occurred in the past with Bullitt and other Mustang packages, where information has show up in the dealer packages long before it ever made its way to press materials.

No word yet on any technical details on the Shelby GT350, what options, appearance packages, or engines will be available in the model. Also noticeably absent from the list are Mach 1, SVT Cobra, and GT500. This would seem to confirm that 2014 is the last year for the incredible 5.8 Trinity engine and the 200+ MPH GT500. It also would seem that at least for now there is no Cobra, and no Mach 1 packages coming, at least not for 2015.

Stay tuned, Ford has promised to release more info in the coming weeks and months, and we’ll be doing our best to dig out the data as we come across it.
