2014 Ford Mustang Customizer Goes Live

This is a big year for Ford its most famous product, the Mustang. Yup, 2014 is the last year of the much-celebrated S197 body style, first introduced back in 2004 as a 2005 model. Now nearly ten years later, it has reached the end of the line, as an all-new Mustang revs up to take its place. But there’s still another year to go, and some Mustang fans just can’t wait for the next Mustang to hit dealerships.

For those impatient few, Ford has just opened up the 2014 Mustang customizer for us to play around with. While there aren’t a ton of changes for the 2014 model year, there are enough to make the trip to the customizer website worth it.

While the rumors that Ford was planning a 2014.5 celebratory model haven’t panned out, Ford has added two new color options to the Mustang palette. 2014 Mustang buyers can now opt for Oxford White and Ruby Red, though Ford has removed the School Bus Yellow, High Performance White, and Red Candy Metallic options. Ford giveth, and Ford taketh away.

Also new for 2014 are the FP6 and FP8 performance packages, for the V6 and GT Mustangs respectively. But the Boss 302 Mustang is no longer available, as that model has been phased out, and prices went up as well. Those wanting to buy a Mustang GT or Shelby GT500 will have to shell out an extra $450. Prices of the V6 Mustang went unchanged.

So are you planning to buy a new Mustang? Or would you rather wait for the NEW new Mustang?
