A live auction at the Wynn Resort and Casino in Las Vegas recently delivered $200,000 to assist the efforts of the Carroll Shelby Foundation and Garth Brooks’ Teammates For Kids Foundation. The winning bidder for the 45th Anniversary Shelby GT350 Mustang was Bill Austin, himself a charity founder.

Shelby and Brooks were present to congratulate the founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation and award him with a set of keys to the car. Following the auction, Brooks put on a special musical performance for Foundation guests.
Austin will have the opportunity to choose personalized custom options from Shelby American and take an exclusive VIP tour of the Shelby American Las Vegas Facility. Shelby and Brooks will also personally sign the All-American muscle car.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the new Shelby GT350 and we were able help a great organization like Teammates For Kids. It’s amazing to have two legends like Carroll Shelby and Garth Brooks teaming up and putting their heart-power into helping so many kids,” said Jenni Shreeves, executive director of The Carroll Shelby Foundation.
Brooks’ Teammates For Kids Foundation was established in January 1999, by co-founders Garth Brooks and Bo Mitchell. The Foundation contributes financial support to select nonprofit organizations with an emphasis on children’s health, education and inner-city services.
The Carroll Shelby Foundation provides financial support for children and medical professionals to help overcome life-threatening health issues worldwide.
