Ford Motor Company celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Mustang all year long. This year helping celebrate at the EAA Airventure event is a one of a kind 2015 Mustang rolling onto the auction block July 31 at the EAA Airventure Oshkosh event. The featured item at the live auction of the EAA’s gathering of Eagles event that exhibits support for the foundation’s year-round youth aviation programs.
The gala event will take place at the Witmann Regional Airport in Oskkosh, Wisconsin, beginning on July 28th and ending on August 3rd. It will feature the world’s best aerobatic performers and will garner roughly 500,000 spectators and 10,000 planes.
A rendering of the one of a kind F-35 Lightning II Mustang has been released. This rare horse is expected garner international collectors from across the globe in hopes of adding this unique creation to their collection.
Ford, a sponsor of the EAA, has aided in building awareness for youth to explore the world of aviation and flight. With the seventh Mustang to be donated for the event, Ford Motor Company continues to display its support for the advancement and development of flight moving into the future.
This one of a kind Mustang inspired design comes from the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II aircraft, the world’s most advanced fighter jet. The Ford design team comprised of Design Manager Melvin Betancourt, and Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak, led the design and engineering of this unique horse from concept to production.
Blended into one work of art, this rare horse represents the agility, strength, power, advancements in technology, ability to be versatile, and superiority in speed that the F-35 Fighter exhibits. These are all attributes shared by the iconic Ford Mustang,” said Edsel B. Ford II.
