Friday started as most races do for me. I showed up to the track when it opens and get all set up. I got 1 test pass in before qualifying and the car was running great. I was ready for 1st round. All went well for me friday evening and I left the track sitting in the #1 spot with an 11.28 @ 118.73.
Saturday rolled around and so did the bracket cars! We got our 2nd round of qualifying in early. I ran against Louie Slyvester. He left the line as soon as he staged the car and the tree didn't activate. I sat til he passed the tree and I got the red light also

Kind of weird. Then the waiting game came. Bracket everyone race away. What were we thinking there was no way we could have finished the Atco race. LOL

We got 3rd round in later in the day and I was still on top the field and I stepped it up a little with an 11.26. I was feeling good, I had .20ths on #2 qualifier and with the worst luck he took out his engine in the burnout box.
Sunday I really felt good about my chances. I've been on the tree since Atco and my car was running like a bracket car. 11.2x's pretty much every pass. Which was fitting for the bracket nationals. I had a bye in the first round with our great 9 car ladder. I ran a killer 1.54 60ft and a 11.21 @ 119.45 out the back. I was pretty pumped up going into 2nd round. I got a little worried when Justin opens my door in the burnout box and says there's no track up there be ready. He was right, my worse pass of the weekend came with a stellar 1.719 60ft and a 11.39. Luckily it was enough to win the round. The semi's brought more of the same as far as track prep. It is always junk if we have to run after Pure Street. They kill the track. But I was able to pull it out. Now I get a chance at revenge in the finals. I was paired up with Matt Amrine in his black modular powered car. He got the win over me in the Chicago finals. This time I wasn't going to be making the same mistake twice. We both left good but I got the better of him down track running my 2nd quickest pass of the weekend with an 11.22 @ 119.40. This was my first win since my first race ever in Bradenton of 2007. I've been to 4 previous finals but couldn't find a win. I was very happy, this also secured my #1 spot in points pretty good going into the World Finals.
The ride home wasn't much fun though with 2 blowouts and some minor damage to my NEW paint on my car.
