Tokyo Drift Mustang For Sale
I'm sure most of you recall the bastard vintage Mustang in the latest Fast and Furious film, Tokyo Drift.

I'm sure most of you recall the bastard vintage Mustang in the latest Fast and Furious film, Tokyo Drift. To make a quick summary of the car, the plot went as follows: A rebellious gear head teenager gets shipped to Japan as an army child due to causing so much trouble in America. He goes to Japan and battles the drifters in one of the drifter's cars. He bashed that car up and in turn, owes a gang who's uncle is in the Japanese mafia - the Yakuza. A bunch of things happen and he needs a car to race. All thats left is an RB26dett powered Nissan S15 (240sx) that he had wrecked earlier in the movie. Luckily, his jarhead dad owns a 67 Mustang shell in Japan and keeps it in his 5x5ft garage to restore. Son takes Mustang, puts in Skyline GT-R motor, and does work.

Anyways, this was more controversial than our LSX powered new Mustang. The vintage and domestic car enthusiasts spitted at the fact that a vintage Mustang's heart was ripped out and replaced with a Japanese motor. The Japanese guys were complexed by why such a godly motor was put in to something so unworthy. I can see both sides as I'm a fan of both.

Anyways, one of the actual movie cars is for sale. The Volo Auto Museum is selling one of the actual movie cars.

Funny thing is, in 2001-2002 I started talking about a project car I wanted to build, a 2jz (supra) powered fox body mustang. Being an import guy with domestic roots, I figured this would be the ultimate combination. 2jzs can make 800whp without taking the valve cover off. Combine that with a lightweight chassis that is very easy and cheap to make hook up, and you had a bad ass, fast, unique drag car.

When I saw the trailor for F&F3, I was pissed. Someone got to my idea before me. Sad thing is, these cars were all tested and for what they had done to them were pathetic. The RBed mustang only put out about 320hp, and in the RB world, is sad. Though the car is unique, I rather build something else better and cheaper

Mark,
Do you know how much they want for the car??
I know the car has a skyline motor in it & I now you want that Supra motor in it but think of this. James has you running like a headles chicken from one race event to the next & from one state to the next. I think with the NO time you have this would be a good deal. Time is money Duck Feeder!!

I know you know your stuff and have the know how to build one but how cool would it be if it was just a Turn Key car. Just think of how long is it taking you to build the bad ass Datsun 510 you got??

I think I almost have rested my case.

The Vader has spoken once again!!

if i can barely afford to build my own cars, how the hell do you think i am going to be able to pay someone else to build a car? Its an ex movie car, so if it sells for anything less then like $50-$60k, Id be suprised......
