The tenth anniversary of Corral Day will be held June 7th at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. That is not the only reason the Corral Day 2008 will be special. Chris Ihara, Corral.net owner/founder, announced that Corral Day 2008 was dedicated to Bill Richards (aka ponybill) and Joey Rosenberry (aka speedfreak87).
Bill found out his kidney was failing and put out a call to fellow Corral members asking for help in saving his life. Joey was brave enough to step up and donate a kidney to a stranger. Bill and Joey are life long friends now thanks to their bond and the Corral. Numerous sponsors stepped up by offering thousands of dollars in valuable prizes to honor and celebrate a story of how the Mustang and Corral.net saved a life.
Another feature of Corral Day will be Team Mississippi verses Team Kentucky. These two teams built cars from the ground up with help from sponsors to compete against each other. Just like Pinks, the team that loses the race, loses their ride. The car that is defeated will be auctioned off and the proceeds will be given to Bill Richards and Joey Rosenberry.
