Sticker Shock
Quoted from Kelly Blue Book News:
The Mustang's status as an American icon is rooted in its bang-for-the-buck value. Attach the Shelby name, however, and all bets are off. Ford has announced the 2008 Shelby GT500KR will sport a starting sticker price of $79,995. The GT500KR is the 540-horsepower, "King of the Road" version of the Shelby GT500 that lays claim to a measly 500 horsepower -- but starts at just $44,425. So, what does the extra $35,000 buy? In addition to 40 more horsepower, the GT500KR also has 30 more pound-feet of torque (510), a stiffer suspension, lower ride height, new front splitter, revised rear spoiler, short-throw shifter and a unique carbon fiber hood. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 -- matched exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission -- is the same found in the GT500 but with revised tuning and a cold-air intake. Ford says the KR will scoot to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds on its way to a 12.1-second quarter mile. Production will be limited to 1000 units for the 2008 model year, the first of which will arrive at select Ford dealers beginning in late May.

What do you think, over priced or worth every penny?

OK I'm jumping on the band wagon here and saying the same thing here.
What dumb ass is going to spend $100,000.00's more on a car that will never get that kind of resale unless it is production number 1...Maybe.
These cars are solely being made for collector's only not for the true everyday Ford Mustang Cobra guy. I think to that the Shelby is way over priced in Los Angeles still asking for $65K plus. I think the money that you can buy a Terminator for and drop $7K into will yield allot of happiness!!
If your that kind of guy that needs name brands like "SHELBY" than I guess your OK to throw out valuable money ($20K or there abouts) that can go to a local Charity.

Shelby or Shelby KR who gives a crap nothing but a waste of money!!
The Old man doesn't need your money, I think he has enough of your parents cash from back in the day.
I would buy some used up Terminator with a gang of miles on it for like $20K and drop the Shelby motor in it and you will be in it for many tens of thousands less in a much lighter car and would rip any shelby in the ass.

Thank you for reading my opinion on the Shelby.
