In an efffort to raise money for Carroll Shelby's Childrens Foundation, Carroll put up the one and only reproduction to the "Green Hornet", as it's obvious darker nature, renamed the car "Black Hornet". The Green Hornet served as a test mule for new technology development. Some of these developments included electronic fuel injection on the 428, independent rear suspension, a power antenna and four wheel disc brakes.
The Black Hornet is powered by a 428 Cobra Jet that puts out 335 horsepower. The '68 started out as every Shelby car does, a production version. It is fully registered in the Shelby Registery as an authentic version. Carroll has owned this car since 2003 and who knows how many miles he has driven it.
Starting bid on the Black Hornet is $100,000 and opened up yesterday on ebay.
