Turbonetics Releases New 122mm Billet Turbo - we call it the "Baby Killer"
When you think the world of turbos for automotive use is at their biggest, we all get surprised again. Turbonetics has released their new TNX-122, 122 MM turbo. The kit is designed for top tier racing, such as, Pro Mods and really for diesel sled pulling competitions. “Diesels go for the most amount of boost you can possibly fit in an engine”, says Turbonetics Marketing Manager, Tyler Tanaka.

The turbo is capable of producing over 2500 horsepower, while supporting 50-60 PSI. The center section is an all-new billet piece. It allows Turbonetics to build a stronger internal bearing with a new, patented oiling system. Also, the compressor wheel is made from a billet 713C super-alloy. “When you run this much boost on a cast wheel, it can expand from the center and explode.” Tyler remarked. Regardless, make sure small animals are not present while in operation.

| | | SCT Touch Screen Xtreme - Wireless Tuner At first look, the SCT Touch Screen Xtreme (we will call it TSX for typing sake) looks like a navigation system. What really lies behind the touch screen and wireless connectivity is a cutting edge tuner. It all started with the Live Wire, but it was thick and used a jog wheel.
The TSX is completely wireless and uses a rechargeable battery similar to a cell phone. Plug in the wireless connector to the data port and the information is sent to the touch screen tuner that automatically detects your car. There is also the ability to store three custom tunes. SCT is going to have a home run on their hands with the first wireless tuner!

Additional features include a performance calculator that can measure estimated 0-60, horsepower, torque, and quarter mile times. There is also user selectable gauges that will pull up against anything your car monitors. The tune-ability and data logging is the same as the hand held, but can be done on the fly without having a cord connected into your OBD II port. There is also a vertical function similar to an IPhone that adjusts the screen depending on orientation.

| | | Auburn ECTED differential lets you switch on the fly Locking differentials have long presented a unique challenge to auto enthusiasts. While lockers are ideal for drag racing or off-roading, their street manners have always been lacking. No one wants to wheel hop every time they turn a corner. But thanks to Auburn Gear’s newly revised ECTED, or Electronically Controlled Traction Enhancing Differential, you can switch between a locker or limited slip differential on the fly.
What’s the secret to this modern marvel? When the ECTED is turned on, an electric current is sent to an electromagnetic coil which rides on a ball bearing. The magnetic flux caused by the coil pulls the pilot cone into engagement with the differential case, and through clever use of ball bearings the center block compresses the cluth pack, giving the user a solid axle assembly even while driving. The applications for this technology are so varied that it’s a wonder it isn’t already on every performance or off-road type vehicle.
The gearing is made from aircraft quality 9310 billet steel and the ECTED is backed by the D-REX program, or Differential Replacement Exchange. The ECTED is available for nearly any Ford, Chrysler, or GM application.

| | | Rockett Brand E85 Sets Records Global warming and high gas prices have forced manufacturers to reach out beyond their traditional petroleum based fuels in search of cleaner and cheap alternatives. This is happening both in the mainstream public use and the racing world as well, and Rockett Brand Racing Fuels is at the forefront of alternative fuel technology.
Their unique blend of E-85 racing fuel is both environmentally friendly and incredibly powerful, producing a consistent 112 octane rating. Unlike a lot of other E-85 blends which in actuality may use as little as 60% ethanol in their mix, Rockett is a true 85% blend of ethanol using their unique blending technology to provide a powerful racing fuel.
Visit http://www.rockettbrand.com/ for more information
The fuel is so powerful in fact, that Danny Thompson, son of famed racing pioneer Mickey Thompson, used the fuel to achieve a land speed record in his 5.4 liter supercharged Ford Mustang. Thomspon went 252 miles per hour this year at the Bonneville Salt Flats, shattering other flex fuel records and securing a place for E-85 in the hearts of horsepower enthusiasts. |

| | | Jet Hot and HPC use nanotechnology to improve your parts Using nanotechnology and over 25 years of experience in the coating industry, Jet Hot Coatings and HPC have become leaders in the field. Both companies got their start using coating parts for the military before moving to aftermarket applications. Their coatings can be applied to just about any engine parts, and they are most commonly employed on headers, exhaust manifolds, and mufflers to prevent corrosion and keep the engine running cooler and lasting longer.
The pinnacle of their nanotechnology coatings is their N Powered Extreme Sterling coating. These nanometer sized particles create a much stronger bond to substrate metals than standard ceramic coatings, giving the Extreme Sterling coating a much shinier appearance and better heat reduction than other coatings out there.
Jet Hot Coatings also offers a line of engine coatings called SilCoat, which attracts oil more effectively and reduces friction and heat where it is needed most. By applying SilCoat to pistons, valves, and springs you can increase the longevity of your engine and free up horsepower through proper lubrication of the engine parts. SilCoat can be applied to new or used pistons, so you can improve your engine rebuild without having to buy all new pistons.

| | | Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger System for S197 Mustang Edelbrock made a major splash at the show. A partnership with Eaton results in a new TVS-based Supercharger for the S197 Mustang. “This is our biggest product launch in sometime”, says Edelbrock Sales Director, Jason Snyder. The first line of these superchargers starts with a 4.6L late model Mustang platform. The design is owned and patented by Edelbrock while the supercharger unit itself is an Eaton 2.3-liter TVS system.
**** VIDEO: Watch the Edelbrock New E-Force Supercharger Video ***
It all starts with a single bore 85 MM throttle body that gains 10 CFM over a conventional 4.6-liter throttle body. From there, the air has a direct route straight to the blower screws. From there the air is pumped up, through a contained air to water intercooler.
After the compressed air is cooled, it will take a path through gradual turns and down into the motor. There is an internal bypass valve that allows the air to divert from going to the screws and up the motor through cruising speeds. Bypassing the screws allows for increased fuel economy and less where on unit itself.
The slight turns and longer runner design allows for more low-end torque. Edelbrock claims that their kit makes more power per PSI then any other supercharger on the market. On 5.5 pounds of boost, Edelbrock has recorded a solid 466 horsepower and 439 ft./lbs. Edelbrock plans to release kits ranging up to 12 PSI and also late model GM kits. Everything you need comes with the kit, from the Diablosport tuner to the colder spark plugs and requires no cutting to fit.

| | | Moroso: New Supercharger Coolant Tanks & Brackets Moroso was at SEMA in full effect with some great products for any drag racer looking to get on the cutting edge of new ideas on old innovations. Complete with coolant tanks and a really neat alternator and vacuum pump mounting bracket.
Everyone knows that a blower is going to put more air in your intake to produce more horsepower. What people forget about sometimes is about the amount of heat that one will produce in a very short period of time. Moroso offers their new Supercharger Coolant Tank for the ’96-present Mustangs including the SVT Cobra and GT500. The box mounts in the stock battery location except for the Cobra where is replaces the stock plastic box. Fabricated from aluminum for strength, is best filled with dry ice for extra cooling power.
A really smart looking product, this kit takes advantage of Moroso’s electric water pump to mount the alternator and vacuum pump using only one bracket. So forget about having to buy different brackets and hope that they match. With this kit there is only one unit to buy that is able to mount your alternator or vacuum. As far as we know this is the only one of its kind.
