Eneos 0W-50 Performance Oil
Oil plays an important role in your engine. Eneos Oil’s 0W-50 oil is the consumer version of the oil that is used by the Honda F1 Team. This low weight oil is made from 100% synthetic oil and is ideal for high horsepower cars and cars with large displacement. Eneos claims their oil works to promote stable performance by offering a wide range of protection across different temperatures. Full synthetic oil provides the same protection in the extreme colds as it does in high heat situations making it ideal for racing applications. In addition to the 0W-50 on display, Eneos’ also had their new CTV Fluid, ATF, and Gear Oil that offers the similar benefits as their oil.

Moser's New Brakes and Full Floating Rear End
Moser now offers an economy rear brake package that can compliment your Moser rear end -- a low frills, street system that packs a ton of value. Moser competitively prices their braking system similar to a drum setup. The vented blanks can be drilled for any bolt pattern desired and work with a 15-inch and larger rim, and the calipers are single piston and will take conventional brake pads. Also, the calipers can be purchased with or without partitions for an E-brake. The only items these kits don’t include are brake lines, but Moser will have an answer for that early next year. The rotors are currently available for all housing ends except for Dana, which are in production.

Full Floater M9

Moser has released a new bad-boy full floater version of their M9 rear end for those folks that are over the 215 MPH barrier, required by NHRA rules. The rear end is comprised of a chrome-moly housing, 4130 spindles, aluminum hub, and 3.5” chrome-moly tubes (unless it’s a dragster housing, then no tubes). Bolt circles are optioned in 5 x 5 inch or 5 x 4.75 inch. You can also pair this up with a Moser 9 or 9.5 inch center section for a complete package. Moser does not offer calipers for this application yet, but will eventually.

Nitto’s First Summer Performance Street Tire
Nowadays, there are a lot of tires that are reasonably priced in the 200 tread wear range. Virtually all enthusiasts buy this type of tires because they are great for daily driving performance and you can a decent amount of life from.

Nitto has joined this trend by creating the new NT05. This is Nitto’s second to lowest tread wear tire to the NT01 road race tire. The NT05 has a wide center rib for added traction while being high in silica. Silica is what helps the tires stick to the road. Additionally, the NT05 has a stiff sidewall and large outside tread blocks. Nitto says that this tire performs well while cool, but gets better as you put heat into it. The NT05 will be competitively priced with other tires in its class and will release in early 2008.

Nitto has a little information on the NT05 on their site: www.nittotire.com

Professional Products' Award Winning Products
This year was a good year for Professional Products. They took home three new product awards, a first in SEMA history. First up was their Powerfire Distributor, which took first place in the “Best Engineered” category. After that it was the Powerjection III system (See below) and their new EFI Snorkel system. Both of those products each took awards in the "Best New Performance-Street" category. And they weren’t finished there, walking away with two more Media awards for '09. Those weren't the only products on display though, as Professional Products makes everything from intake manifolds to gauges for just about any application.

2005+ Ford 4.6 L 3V PowerForce Damper

Professional Products came to SEMA with some of the most interesting products and ideas this year. First was their PowerForce Damper for Ford 4.6 L 3V Modular Motors. Complete with top dead center marks this damper meets SFI specification #18-1 for legal use in NMRA, NMCA, and many other races. Made from 1045 Steel, this performance damper offers extra protection against a stock damper disintegrating at high engine speeds.

Powerjection III

This is the product that everyone was talking about at SEMA. The Powerjection III builds on the design of the other Powerjections but incorporates newer technology to make it even simpler to not only install but use as well. This model integrates the engine management system (EMS) into the unit, reducing the number of wires the installer would have to run. What this does is cut back the amount of wires running through the engine bay, providing a more traditional look. Complete with the self-learning software of the EMS, this kit is ready to run right out of the box in one of three kits. Check out a few of the system’s features below:

• Basic unit is coupled with either a Return Fuel Kit or a Returnless Fuel Kit. There is no horesepower limit with the Returnless Kit.
• 02 Sensor installs with no welding using the special supplied clamp-on bung.
• Both the Return Kit and Returnless Kit include an EFI electric fuel pump and filter.
• Unit is complete with throttle body, (4) port style injectors, all necessary sensors, built-in Engine Management System and minimal cabling.
• The Powerjection III is a self learning EFI system that does not need laptop programming. Laptop programming can be performed if desired.

Mickey Thompson Added Tire Lineup
Mickey Thompson is not new to the drag radial tire market by any means. Though many people don’t know there is actually two different types of drag radials by MT. The Phase One is the traditional style of drag radials that you see on most competition drag radial cars. The Phase One holds the current record set by David Hinzman with a 7.18 @ 201 MPH, and is available in the most popular sizes of 275/50/15, 275/60/15, 315/50, and 325/60, etc -- almost all designed for 15-inch drag-type wheels.

The Phase Two drag radial looks more like a street tire and is made for larger diameter wheel applications and imports. The tire compound is the same. But, when you have a larger diameter tire with a shorter sidewall, you loose some of that needed sidewall flex as strength is needed to keep the rim from bottoming out. These tires are available in low-profile sizes like 275/40/17. Perfect for a fast daily-driven street car.

Sportsman S/T Street Tire

On the lighter side of Mickey Thompson is their new Sportsman S/T street tire. This is targeted towards the street market. This is not a real hardcore late-model Street performance tire, it’s a high 440 tread wear tire that gives a classic pattern look and the raised letter sidewalls that are painted white. MT plans to release the S/T in January in the top eight most popular 15-inch sizes. It will be great for regular street cars and Friday-night hot rods.

Zoom Offers New Technology For Race And Performance Street Cars
The R&D department at Zoom has been hard at work this last year. At SEMA Zoom Performance Products unveiled their new clutches and we were there to get the scoop.

Vs3 Clutch System For Drag Racing

This new clutch is designed to have not only strong clamping force but be adjustable as well. That’s right, the static pressure can be set from 1,000 lbs all the way to 2,800 lbs. Actuation is controlled by a CNC machined 4130 steel long style lever with a counter weight provision attached to the 4340 steel yokes. With six different adjustable springs anyone can dial in this clutch for exactly what they want using nothing more than a screwdriver. The full-faced iron clutch disc is available in many popular spline configurations and is SFI approved for competition use.

New Science Friction

The new Science Friction is a Kevlar based friction material that requires no brake in period what so ever. This allows you to get right out there and enjoy your car without having to wait and break it in. You may think there is a down side to this somewhere. Rest assure, you still get the smooth engagement, long service life, and high torque holding abilities Zoom is known for. Add to that this Single Friction Kevlar fiber based monoblock which is a low-density formula that provides permanent centrifugal force resistance, exceptional durability and high heat tolerance compared to typical clutch facing materials. So many people are talking about this - It could be the fact that this technology is available in all of Zoom’s HP kits at no extra cost.

The vehicle Hypertech displayed in their SEMA booth was not a Mustang or a new Challenger, but a Crown Vic cop car. Yes, the one vehicle most enthusiasts fear! Through their tuning capabilities, they were able to pick up 2.5 miles per gallon while also increasing full throttle performance. This is an amazing claim, but one that Hypertech's advanced calibration team can fully back up.

Hypertech has added the GT500 to their extensive list of custom tunes. Some of the options in the tune include a pulley tune, several intakes, and a tune for both 91 and 93 octane. Hypertech’s research shows a stronger power difference in the 93 tunes, for those of you not in California. With a pulley and one of their tunes, Hypertech claims a horsepower gain of over 50. Other tunes that are nearing completion are the Trailblazer SS and SSR.

05-09 Ford Mustang GT Intake System

Airaid now has an intake for the 4.6 L Modular Motor in the 05-09 Mustang GT. This intake features their Modular Venturi Technology to increase the horsepower of your Stang without the need of an aftermarket tuner to make it work. However, you can remove it for maximum air flow. The filter used in this kit is their High-Flow air filter with SynrhaFlow technology that filters down to two microns for maximum filtration. The kit comes complete with Airaid’s exclusive one piece air dam and all the stainless steel clamps you need to install this intake is no time at all. Airaid also makes kits for other Mustangs including V6 models.
