3V Modular Cam Phaser Limiter by Livernois Motorsports

Under low oil pressure situations, the cam phasers in modular engines sound like a bent valve flopping around in your engine; since the rotating phaser is clicking against itself. When it comes to upgrading cams on a modular motor, an aggressive cam will cause interference between the piston and valve and requires a lockout that eliminates your variable valve timing. Truth be told by Livernois - there is still power to be had from retaining your cam phaser in a controlled state; thus they have released a phaser kit that limits the timing to a maximum of twenty degrees versus the factory 60.

The limiter also keeps the metal disks from clicking against each other with it internally sprung limiter. Livernois claims that you can retain 20 horsepower with the limiter versus a complete lockout. This will allow for more lift and a more aggressive ramp in your camshaft profile. The new phaser is made from an all billet construction.

Windage Solutions for Modular Motors

Livernois has designed these oil drain back extenders to empty the oil back into the pan rather than getting caught up by the windage from the crank. The drain backs come with a tap and is designed for a fresh build since you will need to clean metal out of the tapped oil returns. Additionally, they have developed a crank scraper that helps further reduce windage and keeps excessive oil off your crank.

Neal Chance Billet Torque Converter
The one disadvantage of having an automatic car is all the drivetrain loss, especially from the heavy torque converter. Trying to find a way to lighten up components in your automatic's driveline will help decrease the amount of power it robs.

Neal and Marty Chance are known amongst the industry for their hardcore torque converters. Last year they previewed their new, all billet torque converter and this year they made it public. On the 10" torque converter, the total weight is 21 pounds while the 9" is 17 pounds and the 8" is 15 pounds. In testing, they have recorded over a tenth of a second decrease in the quarter mile on a Pro Mod car.

Due to being aluminum, this torque converter will work on anything except for a turbo car that can generate up to 900 degrees in the converter while building boost on the line. For nitrous, supercharged, and naturally aspirated combinations this will keep the aluminum from getting too soft from heat.

Pertronix Acquires JBA
In a deal that was made solid less then two weeks ago, JBA will now be owned by Pertonix to join other exhaust lines, such as Patriot and Doug’s Headers. JBA is a 22 year old company that was mostly known for their Ford products but have expanded to all makes and have become extremely popular in the truck market.

JBA will still function the same in San Diego, with the only change being distribution by moving all the products to be sold out of the Pertronix warehouse. JBA will continue to grow their line of exhaust components and will still be offered in their three different styles of coatings.

Forgeline Wheels New 3 and 1 Peice Wheels
We are familiar with many of Forgeline Wheel’s offerings, but new for this year are their EV3R and EV1R wheels as well as one other brand new prototype that features an all-carbon fiber barrel! First, their new EV3R is a new competition wheel that follows the same three piece Grand Am winning formula of their older designs, but with a new edgier look that screams intimidation while still retaining the features often found in a competition wheel, such as large opens for impact guns to fit with out damaging the wheels.

The EV1R on the other hand follows the same design as the EV3R, but in a one piece design that is 20% lighter than the already lightened EV3R. Available in select 18” and 19” sizes, these wheels can be powder coated to match your application.

The EV3R Wheel

While it is just a prototype wheel, the new carbon fiber barrel soon to be available for select applications, is custom spun using long strands of carbon fiber vs. the tuner looking mesh fiber widely associated with many carbon fiber parts. The wheel is currently awaiting approval in many popular racing series such as the Grand Am series.

Traction Control Systems From Davis Technology
Sometimes, no matter how good you set the car up, the tires still won’t hook up. Davis Technologies makes a traction control system that can be easily connected and disconnected from your car. Now because this system is small, it can be mounted anywhere and is light weight. In fact you might not even know that it's there – it's that small! Their system is self learning and automatically adjusts to different conditions. This system works with many popular electronic ignitions to control timing as a means of traction control.

www.moretraction.com is the place to learn more about keeping your tires from going up in smoke.

Quick Time Performance Bell Housings Bring Anything Together
There are far more transmission and engine combinations out there than there is bell housing to choose from. Quick Time Performance manufactures unique bell housings that are made from spun 50 grade steel and then laser cut to many preferences. So if you want to mount a Muncie transmission to a 302, there is the ability to do that now. If you like to keep with the same manufacture for both components, then they also make many popular bell housing options to fit your needs.
