Are the days of the 5.0 Mustang SSP back? Well not just yet. But the Sacramento Police Department is making criminals shake in their seat using that same idea. And nothing does that better then a Mustang GT.
Back in the day the Fox Mustang made a great pursuit car when having 175 or 200 horsepower was huge advantage for police. Today, the media’s glorification of high-speed chases with cars having 300 and even 400 horsepower is pretty commonplace. It’s hard to think that cops don’t have a good case car. The Mustang however is gaining more popularity in the police market again because it meets the demand for more horsepower that the aging Crown Victoria and other options are lacking, a lot.
The new Mustang looks like its home in the traditional black and white paint. But the real neat thing isn’t all of the fancy lights or computers that the police use, it what they decided to put under the hood. Not wanting their new Stang to be left in the dust, the Sacramento Police department installed Whipple superchargers on all of their pursuit cars. With over 400 hp, these officers have all the power they need to apprehend suspects and have a little fun too I’m sure.
