The NTO V6 car: Piecemeal upgrades?
I've been looking at the V6 upgrade project and i really like what I see in particular because it's using a good number of simple, do in your garage parts.

What i'm wondering is if someone was to do something simular to thie car in stages, would it be possiable and what order should they do it in?

Well, that's exactly what we did, was do it in stages. In fact, if you check out the videos at www.newtakeoff.com you can see each of the different stages that we did. I guess the question is, what order do YOU want to do it in.

NewTakeOff.com has some great specials on the V8 GT take off parts, I'd jump on them right away before they run out of stock.

I did see it was in stages but I wasn't sure of the time scale involved or if the car was driven much in between upgrades.

For a stock V6 thats is typically street driver, I was wondering if there was a down side to doing the upgrades in multiple stages over time. I'm talking a month or more between upgrade stages with it being driven for the time inbetween.

I was floored at the prices on NTOs site. I looked at Vortec and the X-Charger you used and I'd have to pick the x-charger for the lower RPM power as well as the high end. Looked easier to install to boot.
Sadly, I can't get the parts yet. Having a heck of a time getting the car. One thing just seems to crash the whole deal several times now. Hopefully that will ease up and I'll get the car I'm after.

As far as the upgrade points; the exterior body mods can obviously be done at will since they have no real interaction with the mechanical parts.

But the 8.8 rear end with 3.73s; doesn't that require re-tuning the computer? or does the fact that you replace the entire rear end cover that?

The X-charger I saw the tune for so no questions about that. I think that rear end swap was my favriote one because I can probably get someone local to do that where I couldn't get them to do the gears.

I don't think there is any downside to the stages, in fact, I think that's how most people would do it.

I would start with the rear end swap. NTO has great prices. You'll need a tuner from someone like SCT, Diablo, or Sniper to adjust the rear end gear ratios in the software.
