So the rumors of Ford releasing an Ecoboost version of the Mustang is apparently not true. In an email from Ford’s Jesse Kershaw, he stated “Total rumor. There's no cycle plan for the ecoboost in Mustang. That doesn't mean there isn't a prototype running around but there's nothing in the plan to actually do that.” For the time being, folks are stuck with the 200 horsepower, naturally aspirated version of the 2010 Mustang’s six cylinder.

There were some rumors floating around the internet that Ford was planning to up the horsepower level of the Ecoboost turbo 6-cylinder to a mind numbing 415 horsepower. I found it hard for the time being for Ford to release 6-cylinder version that would produce more power than the current 4.6-liter found in the 2010 Mustang. Now, this doesn’t mean that Ford will never produce an Ecoboost version of the Mustang, but immediate plans for the engine is virtually shut down.
