Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Just walking through the pits this morning and it feels like it is a little bit cooler, but that won't last. The index cars are making their runs as the heads up teams are all prepping their cars for eliminations.

E1 Part 2
It’s been a busy day as the schedule has been a little crazy. Here are the results from the remaining heads up E1 runs.

Pro Outlaw 10.5

Mike Murillo spun the tires off the line for a split second, but was able to gather it up in time to still run a 7.337@149.95. In the other lane was Keith Neal. His 7.388@215.24 wasn’t good enough to advance him into the next round.

Dwayne James has been struggling with his car all weekend, and he drew Conrad Scarry in the first round. James had a great .006 reaction time, but Scarry was a full car length ahead of him by the eighth mile. Scarry finished with a 6.916@204.63 that bested James’ 9.265@119.30.

Dan Millen was granted a bye run in the first round. He’ll face Mike Murillo in the semis.

Super Street Outlaw

John MacDonald advances to the semis where he will have a bye run after running a 7.540@189.15. Chris Tuten gave him a run for the position running a 7.701@188.94.

Don Burton got a lucky pass into semis when Brian Dalton red light before running a 8.094@173.63 to Burton’s 8.168@184.77. He’ll face Urist for a place in the finals.

John Urist ran a 7.531@190.73 bye run after he shut it down at the 330 foot mark.

Renegade

Larry Hourcle advanced into the next round before he left the lights when Chad Almandinger red light. Both car ran it out with Hourcle running a 8.738@157.80 and Almandinger running a 8.766@157.45.

Another red light in the next set of cars. This time it was Chris VanGilder handing the win to Dan Rawls. VanGilder still ran 8.785@157.87, and Rawls ran a 8.559@161.54.

The red lights continued as Brian Mitchell sent himself packing even though he ran a 8.765@158 when he lined up against Brian Tuten who stayed green and ran a 8.725@156.83. He’ll face Dan Rawls for a run in the finals.

Bart Tobener sent Alton Clements home with a 8.618@160.81 over a 8.814@159.70 from Clements. He advances to the next round to face Hourcle in the semis.

Hot Street

Robbie Blankenship caught Jim Sutterlin sleeping on the starting line as he ran a 8.822@154.76 over Sutterlin’s 8.965@149.88.

There was a bit on confusion on the starting line when Rick Riccardi lined up against Max Gross. One of the crew members on Gross’ team who was helping him stage the car had his foot in the beams when having Max pull up. Riccardi staged his car and the starter started the tree without Gross fully in the lights. Rick took off and ran a 9.235@148.43.

They decided to rerun the round and this time Riccardi red light by .001 as Gross ran it out the back door to a 8.881@157.32 over Riccardi’s 9.270@147.97.

Richard Preiser was set to take on Don Bowles, but Preiser decided to pack it up after saying that he hasn’t happy with the track surface. Bowles enjoyed a free bye run into the semis.

Charlie Booze got a bye run into the semis.

Real Street

Bruce Hemminger knocks out Jim Bresse with a 9.562@142.70 after something went a miss on Bresse’s car right after the 60 foot mark bringing that car to a roll not under a lot of power anymore.

Paul Wiley left after Dave Ginter but Wiley ran him down hard ending with a 9.818@138.43 over Dave Ginter’s 10.145@138.53.

Tim Mathery had a great run against Madd Matt Johnson. Johnson cut a better light than Mathery, but Mathery had a better 60 foot time and never looked back. Mathery ended up running a 9.592@141.89 to advance to the next round.

Factory Stock

Jay Dold knocked out Brian Marr when he ran a 11.592@117.67 over Marr’s 11.990@114.20.

John Leslie’s car sounded and ran great against Zane Reed. Leslie ran a ran an 11.588@118.17 over Reed’s 12.174@111.87.

Jim St Charles had a free bye run when Jermey Taylor didn’t show up to the line. The unconfirmed rumor is that Taylor cracked his block yesterday. Either way St Charles ran a 11.693@116.82.

Tommy Godfrey had a bye run where he ran a 11.426@119.58.

Drag Radial

Steven Biggs red light against David Guy sending Guy into the semis. Guy ran a 8.149@181.30 with Biggs running a 8.331@174.77.

Right after that we saw Matt Bell line up against Enzo Pecchini. Bell left the line before Pecchini, but Pecchini had bested Bell by the eighth mile finishing with a 8.232@174.50 to send Bell and his 8.333@171.42.

In a major upset, Adam Jude caught Jason Lee sleeping at the tree and then beat him outright on the track. Jason Lee gave a great run at 8.296@163.87, but it wasn’t good enough to take out Jude’s 8.239@173.47.

Pure Street

Mark Anderson lined up against Steve Gifford. Both cars left hard but in the end it was Anderson running a 10.303@128.93 to send Gifford home with a 15.951@59.36 after he lost it shortly before the eighth mile.

Ryan Hecox and Brandon Alsept had a great race in E2. The two car were within a tenth of each other the entire length of the track. Hecox ended up beating out Alsept by .0236 when he ran a 10.370@129.37 over Alsepts’ 10.344@131.05.

The Pure Street cars finished this round with Teddy Weaver getting a bye run into the semis.

Pro Outlaw 10.5

The round started off with another red light. This time is was Mike Murillo taking the red bulb as Dan Millen hammered out a 6.905@212.09 for his highest MPH so far.

Conrad Scarry followed with a 6.916@204.73 on a bye run setting up the finals with him and Dan Millen.

Super Street Outlaw

Don Burton took on John Urist in a rematch from the finals at Bradenton earlier this year. once again John Urist lost to Don Burton this time due to a red light start. Burton shut it down early saving his car for the finals.

Jonny Mac got the bye run into the finals running a 9.072@171.88.

Renegade

Larry Hourcle sent Bart Tobener, the number one qualifier, home with a 8.664@159.80 to Tobener’s 8.874@154.03.
Next up was Brain Tuten and Dan Rawls and it was set to be a great a race, but it was over before Tuten left the line as Rawls went .151 red. Tuten rolled it down the track advancing to the finals.

Real Street

Another great race in Real Street as Paul Wiley ran a 9.812@139.56 against Tim Matherly who ran a 9.934@141.11. The two cars were neck-and-neck for the entire race, but it will be Wiley facing Bruce Hemminger who ran a 9.620@142.66 on a bye run.

Hot Street

Max Gross’ weekend ended when he red light against Robbie Blankenship. Blankenship eased it down the track just slightly.

Don Bowles was beat off the line by Charlie Booze, but he battled back in the closest race of the weekend so far. Bowles ran a 8.784@153.04 to Booze’s 8.805@154.16 with the total margin of victory being only .0024 second, advancing Bowles to the finals.

Factory Stock

Tommy Godfrey advanced to the finals when John Leslie red light as Godfrey ran a 11.221@119.73.

Jay Dold lined up against Jim St Charles for the final spot in the finals. Dold got the holeshot and ran it out the back door to an 11.478@118.09 over St Charles’ 11.589@166.00.

Only two classes had to run a third round before the finals, Drag Radial and Pure Street.

Pure Street

Ryan Hecox eliminated Teddy Weaver with a 10.252@131.65 that bested Weaver’s 10.680@129.65. That moved Hecox into the finals to face Mark Anderson who had a bye run and only took the lights to move into the finals.

Drag Radial

David Guy ran a 8.158@181.25 that sent Adam Jude home when he ran a 8.236@174.32. The two cars swapped the lead a few times down the track but Guy made it up in the top end. He’ll face Enzo Pacchini in the finals.

Results From The Finals
Factory Stock

Tommy Godfrey lined up against up Jay Dold. Dold left first after the green, but Godfrey was better at every stage of the race. Godfrey ran a 11.173@120.35 over Dold’s 11.344@118.58.

Pure Street

Ryan Hecox faced Mark Anderson in the Pure Street final. The number one qualifier Hecox was right beside Anderson until just before the 1000 foot mark when Anderson got a little sideways and lost it to Hecox.

Real Street

Bruce Hemminger was the number one qualifier the weekend and lined up against Paul Wiley. Wiley left early and handed the win over to Hemminger.

Renegade

Brain Tuten was given the win light after Larry Hourcle left early and was given the red light. Hourcle still ran the car to his weekend best of 8.609@159.91 which was over a tenth faster than Tuten ran all weekend. Begging the question, how would it have played out if Hourcle didn’t red light.

Hot Street

When you look at the times out on the track, you would guess the Don Bowles beat Robbie Blankenship. But when you factor in the reaction times, Blankenship’s .017 reaction combined with his 8.886@154.14 was enough to best Bowles’ .078 reaction and 8.864@152.02 ET.

Drag Radial

David Guy was able to take the win over Enzo Pecchini for his first victory in Drag Radial. Pecchini’s car never really ran right as he was way off the pace as he ran a 10.188@107.29 that wasn’t enough for Guy’s 8.206@167.68.

Super Street Outlaw

Odd set of events in Super Street Outlaw as John MacDonald faced off against Don Burton. MacDonald’s car rocketed out of the line as Burtons car begun to shake the tires before the 60 foot mark.

Then MacDonald blew the motor on his car, but Burton never got back into the gas and MacDonald coasted to his first win.

Pro Outlaw

Dan Millen has been on top on top of his game all weekend, but Conrad Scarry has been right behind him the whole way. Surprisingly, both car left the line with a .022 reaction time and for the first quarter of the track it looked like Scary would take the win. But as both cars got out of shape, it was Millen who was able to gather it up in the end running a 7.040@179.28 over Scarry’s 8.039@127.13.
