Notes Fro Round 1
Factory Stock racer Jim St Charles really stepped up in the first round and became the second quickest FS car of the weekend. His problem was he was running against the fastest FS of the weekend. Jim ran an 11.20 at 120 to only be beaten by Tommy Godfrey’s 11.12 at 120.

In Real Street, Matt Johnson wins in a mild upset with a surprising 13.98 when Ginter left before the tree was activated. Jim Pickel stepped up with a 10.43 and took out Kevin Scott who slowed to a 12.94.

Number one qualifier in Drag Radial, Sean Lyon, was taken out by Steven Biggs 8.21 and his .047 light. Sean out ran Steven with an 8.14 but was not quick enough on the tree to get the win. In the last matchup in DR Matt Bell was not able to make the call with a hurt engine and then Pete Johnson left before the tree was activated and no one advances. Enzo Pecchini ran his fastest pass with the BFG’s on running a 8.08 at 177.

The number one qualifier in Renegade was also taken out in the first round. Alton Clements blew right past the old record but was unable to back it up and then he turned on the red bulb in the first round against Bob Cook.

New Car Blues

Dan Millen has been having his share of the new car blues, but the chassis isn't the problem like it is for most. Dan has been having problems with everything BUT the chassis. The team has changed ignition boxes, had a broken rocker, Motec trigger go bad, and even the new one in the box went bad. A piece of the exhaust even came loose and damaged the turbo. The hard work paid off though as Millen had a first round win with a 6.69 @ 210.34 mph.

Round 1 Eliminations Pit Notes
Mike Murrillo has been struggling with issues all weekend. They got it tuned up enough to get in the sixes and get by AJ Powell, but everything was not right. They were replacing the battery in hopes of fixing an electrical issue then they were going to search for a boost leak.

Bob Hanlon won his first round matchup in his Hot Street Mustang but he still had his issues. After round one they swapped out a transmission. They feel like they should be ready for eliminations on Sunday.

Bon Bowels was able to get by Robbie Blankenship in round one but the car is still not performing up to potential so they were swapping out a converter. They feel like this should put them where they want to be.

John Kolivas has put on an impressive show this weekend. In the first round of eliminations John won but slowed to a 7.51. When they got back to the pits they found one of the silicone couplers had split and was causing a major boost leak. They have a bye in the next round so I expect then to turn up the power to see what it will run.
