Top News from round one of Qualifying

Don Bowles looks very strong

Don Bowles, running two different Roush development new edge Mustangs had a very good friday afternoon in Georgia. The yellow Mustang, which Don drives, was looking consistent during the later part of the afternoon. Don managed to qualify number 2 in the Toyo Tires open comp class. The white car, driven by Donnie Bowles, runs in Roush Performance Modular Muscle class and qualified number 3. Look for these guys to perform all weekend long.

Jim Fitzgerald should teach a class on doing clean wheelstands! Flying high and running strong, his MPH and Kenne Bell sponsored Mustang managed to qualify Number 1 in the Roush Performance Modular Muscle class. Running a 9.82 at 124.2 Jim looks like he could run away with a win this weekend. Stay tuned to see what happens.

Tim Matherly Number One qualifier in Real Street

Tim Matherly was flying all day today. Qualifying number one with a 9.79 @ 140 Tim was the fastest and quickest car in the 5.0 Mustang Real Street class. Tim has a very clean car and this thing looks good the whole way down the track. Look for Tim to be near the top all weekend long.

Great traction, even in the face of rain

The crew at Silver dollar raceway was doing a great job today keeping the first 60' in good shape. It took an hour or two for the racers to figure out the track, but check out the wheels up action from today.

Thats about it for todays action. Qualifying started today at 7 and was rained out by 8... Tomorrow should bring some amazing racing, so please check back for updates throughout the day.
