New from Indiana
Just like to say hello. Just traded Black 06' GT for new White 07' Shelby Gt. It's alot easier to keep clean. Would like to hear from other Shelby GT owners about Shelby quality issues. Thanks, Kevio

Kevio, welcome to the site, congrats on the new Shelby! That Shelby GT is a hell of a car. What brakes did you get on it?

You have any pictures you can share?

We've done quite a bit with Shelby, did a braking test with Baer, I'll send you the link in a second.

Shelby brakes
I just bought the car on April 1st. It still has factory brakes. After market brakes are on my list of things to do. The car is at my local Ford dealer with some problems caused by Shelby. They install hood pins but do not paint the bare metal on the hood. Not everybody lives in warm dry climates. The paint under the hood pin plates started to blister. The Shelby letters on the trunk and the pony logo on the grill also pitted. This is why I asked other owners if they had any quality problems.

Kevio, You're exactly the guy we are looking for. You should post in the technical area with those same comments on where the Shelby's are problematic. I bet you will get lots of responses from a post in that area. Guys like you that own the cars, do the work and know where the problems are is what makes the technical area of our forum worthwhile. Please consider opening a thread in the technical area listing all the things about the Shelby that you have noticed.

By the way, Welcome aboard. Good to hear from the midwest.

Welcome to StangTV. Glad you're here. I agree with Kbro, you should post those issues in a new thread. I think all mfgs have some sort of issue. After re-thinking my original post on this issue, I would think that this may be one of those times where you might have just gotten one of the "missed in QC" cars. Every Shelby I have ever seen have been perfect.

Baer makes Shelby 6CS brakes which is what we reviewed in the video. Shelby is a stand up company, have you contacted them and let them know about the problems?

Welcome! Sorry to hear about all of the problems. I'm sure Ford/Shelby will get you taken care of. Good luck!

Shelby problems
I wish my problem was isolated but I dont think so. My local Ford dealer has a Shelby just like mine in for some work and the holes for the hood pins are not painted either. I looked at a couple of black ones down in Indianapolis before buying mine and the pony logo and grills looked bad. Don't get me wrong I love the car and my problems are cosmetic. Ford is painting the entire hood and re-stripping it. If I don't like the results it will give more incentive to install a fuctional hood. Do not have any real good pics yet. I have some but it was too suuny and they don't do the car justise. I promise some soon. I might need some coaching on how to post them. Can you say computer illiterate? I can.
