| | | New here... I'm new here. I currently own a 1994 B4C Camaro (with lots of mods...and lots of problems) and a 2005 WRX STi.
I love American Muscle and the new Camaro doesn't do it for me. Not only is it just about fugly, but the interior wreaks of cheapness. A 3900 lb curb weight doesn't help much, either...the fat pig.
Anyway, I'm looking for a replacement for my Camaro. I just want a fast car that has air conditioning, power, and a reasonable curb weight, or a curb weight that can become reasonable with removal of some unnecessary items.
I'm going to need 400+ hp to be happy, and the 2010 Mustang GT will make me happy with the addition of a Roush supercharger that's also going to be covered under warranty. This setup is good for 435 hp. I will be happy.
Yesterday, I took out a 2010 GT and it was undoubtedly one of the best cars I've driven, period. |

| | Welcome to the site. Personally, I really like the '09 Camaro. Sure, it's heavy, but what late model car isn't.
Why do you want to replace your Z?
The 2010 Mustang is a bad ass car. I recently got a ride in a convertible, and I was sold. Sure, it doesn't make the power of the Camaro, but it's still a killer ride. Quote:

| | | I want to replace my Camaro because it's a piece of crap. It's one thing after the next with that thing. I have about 40k tied into it, including the price of the car, and every 200 miles something breaks.
Everything was fine the other day. I go to start it up yesterday morning and the coolant light is lit up in my face, and it had a really nasty stumble. Yeah, this piece of crap breaks even when it ISN'T being driven.
I've just had it up to my eyeballs with the piece of crap. It's time for a change. I want a car that I can actually drive. I've belonged to a Camaro club since last August and I haven't been able to to drive it to any cruise-ins, meetings, or anything. I'm the guy that's always showing pictures of his Camaro, and I'm tired of being that guy. "Yeah, I have a Camaro! Wanna see a picture of it?" I wonder if the people in the club even believe I have a Camaro.
I drove a 2010 Stang GT and loved it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to mash the throttle, so I have no clue how fast or slow this car is. I really wanted to see "what it had," but not much I can do about traffic.
Another reason I'm looking at the 2010 Stang is because a Roush supercharger is available for it, and it's covered under Ford's warranty. It's a car that will have 435 hp, an air conditioner that works, a reasonable curb weight, manual transmission, and it's just a car I can get in, drive, and be happy.
It's a powerful car with a warranty. 435 hp is enough power that I will be happy with in "stock" trim, and I won't even have to mod it... |

| | That sucks, sorry it's not treating you well. Of course, it is a 15-year old car.
As for the Mustang purchase, the "don't have to Mod it thing..." no. That will last for a little bit, but after a while, you'll be tearing into that Pony! Quote:

I'm not bored with my Camaro...I've completely lost all enthusiasm and patience for it, due to its constant ongoing issues. |

My wife says to "hold my horses," and see if it's something related to what the mechanic just fixed (timing cover leak), and just go from there. Now, I have to wait it out until at least July 3rd before I can bring the car back. He had to repair a small oil pan leak he caused after bolting everything back up after accessing the timing cover and replacing the gasket. I'm trying to be patient, but this car just has me so infuriated, it's unreal.
Now, I don't know what to do about that Mustang I want. While part of me says to wait for the 400 hp 5.0L that's supposed to debut, part of me tellls me to go with the 4.6L, because it's proven to be a reliable engine. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
