NQS Performance is home to a few pretty killer lookin' S197 Mustangs, but when it comes to the biggest and baddest, Doug Hammond's supercharged 2008 Mustang GT is the one possessing the most performance, prowess, and versatility. Who the heck is NQS, and what do they do? NQS Performance is a high performance parts & accessories shop, that also installs everything they sell and make. The Des Moines based shop features some of their most commonly installed parts on their trio of S197's - referred to as NQS003, a sleek silver S197 with lots of custom accessories and suspension work, NQS002, a V6 Convertible with a killer suspension setup, and today's feature ride - NQS001.

The 4.6L 3V engine in Hammond's '08 is pretty much stock except for one big ticket item - the bolt-in, intercooled Procharger HO system that's rated to pump out a little over 460 horsepower on a completely otherwise stock engine. With the addition of dual fuel pumps, 39.5 lbs. injectors and a custom tune, the odds are good that Hammond's car is somewhere in the range of 500hp (people are making 600-plus-hp with more heavily modified S197's and this blower, so that leaves a good amount of growing room should Hammond decide he wants a little more oomph).
Since this 'Stang mostly reports to the track for road course duty, just like any stock car, it needed some work in the suspension and braking department. NQS started off with some
Wilwood 14" discs with 6 piston calipers to bring the pony to a screeching halt when needed, and is running
Koni single adjustable shocks and struts. Reminiscent of the good old Boss 302 and 429 Mustang's, NQS has their sweet custom side stripe kit on this ride, along with their other two in-house 'Stangs. Thanks to Procharger and the crew at NQS, Hammond's got himself one sweet supercharged street car that can tear up any road course at will.
