Jason Wilkerson has and an electrified streak running through his blood, feeding the desire to build this awesome 2004 Ford Lightning. This is not your ordinary truck with all the go fast bolt on pieces; this is one nasty hauler with pro mod looks and twin turbos for motivation. Jason’s truck is sure to light the track up where ever he races.

Skinny Kid Race Cars building the chassis and roll cage for the 25.2

A mock up of the engine and transmission being fitted for clearance with all the plumbing
Skinny Kid Race Cars of Commerce, Michigan was commissioned to build the wild 25.2 chassis with one of their own fabricated rear housings. The rear was outfitted with
Strange gears and massive 41 spline axles. Beautiful
Weld wheels are wrapped in rubber from
Mickey Thompson. 33x10.5w’s fill the carbon fiber tubs that sit beneath the
GTS fiberglass body which had been scaled down by the Skinny Kid crew.

A cockpit suitable for a fighter jet
Beneath, Gary Stiehl Advanced Custom Paint is doing the body that has been treated with paint from the gun of Ross Stomp. Motivation is supplied through a strong foundation which has a new 5.4 aluminum
Ford Racing block.
Manley supplied the pistons and pro series rods which are mated with 2000 HP forged, cryogenically treated crankshaft. Topping off the short block is a pair of MMR ported Ford GT heads.
Modular Mustang Racing provided many custom pieces, from the turbo camshafts to the one off sheet metal intake.
FAST XFI manages the fuel system while receiving boost from a pair of
Precision Turbo GT4578’s. Harnessing all the modular motor power requires a
Rossler Terminator 5 powerglide.
Jason’s most recent venture involves the popular
Rage Wraps and a custom vinyl wrap for a show in late January. The final design has not been set in stone but the early rendering from Phil looks wicked. An install date is set for sometime later this month and then Jason says the truck will be complete. Is that ever the case though? I guess we will find out. Look for this Lightning to be hitting the tracks in the Michigan area this spring.
