Ken Bjonnes' Latest Creation
Ken Bjonnes over at Modular Depot isn’t new to modding Mustangs. His latest project for a customer though is something new. Bjonnes started out with a 2005 Mustang GT. The customer's (Vinny Barber) goal is to make it the fastest 3V with stock computer and internals all the while following Drag Radial rules just in case they decide to run the car in that class. Check out some of the pictures of the custom turbo install and hear it start up for the first time.

An 88mm is what was chosen to force the air with a back up 85mm waiting as plan B. With all of this shooting through a Powerglide I look forward to this car being taken apart and really beefed up. But with it sounding as good as it does now, I’m not sure I would want him to.

Thanks for the fix. Although I can't take the credit. This car was built by Modular Depot. Without guys like Big Mike Wilson (project manager) and Jimmy T (fabricator) we would never have been able to complete this project. Big thanks to them.

The car hit hte dyno on lower boost and results were very encouraging. We should get it back on in the next day or two with more boost.

Here is a pic of it all together at our local car show this weekend.

This is on 18-19 lbs. of boost with alot more to come. But before we push it anymore, we are going to take it to the track.

Numbers are 913/706

This is with a stock computer and is still drive by wire. Even using stock coil packs.

Don't forget that this is through a powerglide tranny and with slicks on it.

Wow those are some impressive numbers. Any plans to sell something like this as a kit?

Probably not as the car would have to be setup specifically like this one for it to fit. We have thought about doing a kit for street cars but the sad fact is, people shop based on price most of the time. And our kit wouldn't be able to compete based on price because we don't like to cut corners or do things to only save cost. We built this as if it were our own car, no shortcuts. But that costs a bit more usually. Of course we can do any car custom if they bring the car to us.
