Something that has been missing from professional racing for quite a few years is the use of actual muscle car bodies. All of the manufacturers have placed cars like the Escort and Grand Am into use for NHRA Pro Stock, but it is evident that there is hope for the fans. The Ford Mustang will once again be a force to reckoned with, as the engineers at Ford have released a whole new engine program along with the 2010 Mustang bodies. They will soon be making their way into action by the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis.

Jim Cunningham is one of those who stayed true to his brand throughout the good and bad years. As being a huge supporter and financial backing to the new Ford program, he has received one of the first pairs of 2010 bodies slated for Pro Stock competition. Last Wednesday Jim Cunningham had the bodies delivered to his Crownsville, Maryland shop and already the ball is rolling. One will be headed to Don Ness’ chassis shop and the other to Jerry Hass’ to be placed on the new chassis.
With the extensive research and development that the Ford engineers have put into the engine program, we hope that Ford will be competitive in the coming year. The Ford group was on hand at Norwalk displaying the prototype parts that will hopefully keep them in the mix for years to come.
