Jarrett Halfacre may have been a name that was tarnished forever after the incident that lead to his two year suspension. He was supposedly found to be cheating by using nitrous oxide in 2008 at the Atco, New Jersey event. Halfacre was one of the top competitors in Super Street Outlaw and the competition felt that he may have had an unfair advantage or was using a second power adder, which lead to the eventual tech inspection where the nitrous was found being used.

Halfacre was banned from any NMRA/NMCA competitions for two years due to the circumstances. Most recently Jarrett sent a letter to the NMRA appealing his suspension. The appeal has been heard and officials have reinstated Halfacre to the NMRA for competition beginning with the Charlotte event. He must undergo a full line for line technical inspection on car he may bring before being allowed to compete.
Here is the full press release from the officials on reinstating Jarrett Halfacre into competition.
Jarrett Halfacre, who had his NMRA/NMCA competition privileges revoked for a period of two years after an incident at Atco Raceway in Atco, New Jersey last August, has successfully appealed his two-year suspension. In a letter to Halfacre, the NMRA Appeals Panel stated: “After a full and comprehensive review by the NMRA Appeals Panel, your request for a reduced suspension has been found acceptable. In accepting this appeal, the terms from the Statement of Action shall be reduced from a two-year suspension to a one-year suspension.”
As a result of the reduced sanction, Halfacre will be eligible to compete at any NMRA or NMCA event beginning August 9, 2009. The letter explained that Halfacres return to racing was conditional and that any car he intends on racing, must first pass, “a line-by-line 2009 NMRA rule book inspection for the class you wish to compete in before being permitted to make a qualifying run.” Halfacre will also face a one-year technical probation, commencing on the first day of his return to racing and successful completion of a teardown inspection. Any technical violation during this probation period could result in additional penalties including further suspension of competition privileges or monetary fines.
With the suspension expiring on an event weekend, NMRA/NMCA officials stated that Halfacre is authorized to compete in the Charlotte event, provided his car passes technical inspection.
