Filmaka and Ford team up to make Mustang Movie
Bullit and Gone in 60 Seconds are among the most memorable movies starring Mustangs in a leading role, though Ford's ponycar has appeared in more movies than any other vehicle. Having inspired writers who demanded a muscular precense for their movies ever since it first appeared on dealer lots nearly 45 years ago. Now the next generation Mustang is on the verge of being unvieled, and Ford is turning to amatuer filmakers to write a Mustang into a starring role of a short film. Twenty contestants now have a chance to bring their own Mustang movie to life thanks to a contest put together by Ford and Filmaka.

All entries were submitted on August 26th, and the twenty semi-finalists are given $5,000 each to produce their ideas, as well as contacts with local Mustang clubs. There are eight pre-written ideas, and writers were encouraged to add their own original touch or to write something completely unqiue. The nine winners and an alternate will each be rewarded an additional $5,000 on September 16th, and in the press release found here on Mustangblog.com they say the movies may air during national television in the US. With such a long and diverse crowd of Mustangs to choose from, I am sure there will be no shortage of creativity coming from these films and I look forward to seeing what these writers come up with.
