At the recent All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA it was evident that the Ford brand has a big following east of the Mississippi river. The All Ford Nationals bills itself as the largest All-Ford event in the world and StangTv.com could not pass up the opportunity to check out the latest from Ford and all the historic Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles on display.

As we pulled into the Carlisle fairgrounds it was impossible to miss the Ford GT gathering that was housed in the historic John Deere tractor dealership. The Ford GT event was organized by Joey Limongelli, “aka GT Joey”, one of the most passionate Ford GT owners we’ve ever met.
Over 40 Ford GT owners brought their cars to the Carlisle event
The building housed several rare Ford GT’s as well as owner’s cars that attended the event. Some of the rare GT’s included a one of one Sonic Blue Ford GT, the original black CP-1 Ford GT prototype show car and the BlackSwan Racing ALMS legal GT-2 Ford GT.
The Kevin Doran built Blackswan Racing Ford GT raced last year in the ALMS GT2 class.
Also on hand at the Ford GT display was Camillo Pardo, the designer of the Ford GT and owner of a Heritage Blue car decked out in Gulf decals just like the GT40 that won LeMans in 1969.
The GT Guys worked the entire weekend installing performance parts on GT's at the Carlisle event.
The “GT Guys” were also in the side lot wrenching on GT’s that needed performance upgrades. From an oil change to a exhaust install the GT Guys did it all at Carlisle.
Ford Taurus SHO on display, this performance adds twin turbo performance to the famous SHO nameplate
Ford Motor Company displayed several new performance vehicles at the event. A black 2010 Taurus SHO was on display with the hood open, a first! We got a chance to talk to an EcoBoost powertrain engineer about the 365 horsepower twin-turbo engine and rest assured the SHO will surprise and delight most Ford sedan enthusiasts.

Also on display was a Molten Orange 2010 SVT Raptor truck, Ford’s assault on the off road/on road market. Ford Blue Thunder monster truck driver Linsey Wink introduced the assembled crowd to the features on the new performance F-150 from SVT. The truck is set-up to pre-runner specs and the race version has been competitive in the Best in the Desert Series.

Ford had SVT product engineer John Pfeiffer on hand to walk around the new 2010 Shelby GT500. John pointed out the major and minor updates to the top of the line Mustang from Ford. In addition to the body restyling Pfeiffer discussed subtle things like hidden washer nozzles and aero updates.
The Ford Racing Mustang garage was a busy place at Carlisle as mechanics were installing performance packs on late model Mustangs.
While Ford engineers were showcasing the new products, Ford Racing was busy installing Ford Racing parts on customer Mustangs. The Mustang Garage was launched at the Mustang 45th Anniversary and has been a big hit for owners and gearheads that have never seen the undercarriage of a Mustang. Mustang Garage technicians installed Ford Racing Performance Packs and other go fast items on Saturday and Sunday.

Sam Auxier, Jr. had his historic 1969 Mustang Pro Stocker in the main hall.
The late Ronnie Sox's Pro Modified Mercury Comet was on the show field.
As always, Carlisle was packed with historic racecars and streetcars. For the 1320 crowd, the All-Ford Nationals featured Ford drag racing legends “Fast Eddie” Schartman and Scharman’s Maverick and Auxier’s 69 Mustang were side by side in the main display building. Out in the show field, the late Ronnie Sox’s Mercury Comet IHRA Pro Modified was on display. The Tommy Mauney built Ford powered Bullet was a real draw to all those fans that remembered the last competitive effort for the legendary driver.
Daddy Warbucks II 2008 Cobra Jet sat next to an original 1968 CJ.
Combining the old with the new in drag racing was Don Fezell's pair of Daddy Warbucks Cobra Jet Mustangs, one was a blue 1968 1/2 original and the other was a 2008 Cobra Jet from Ford Racing.
Merkur XR4Ti's were well represented by the Merkur owners club
While Carlisle brings out some unique Fords, other historical makes under the Ford banner draw a diverse crowd. The Merkur Owners Association was out in full force with some trick rides.
This Merkur Scorpio sedan features a 4-Valve Ford Modular engine and T-45!
One Merkur of interest was a Scorpio sedan with a 4-valve Modular V8 / T-45 transplant. The V8 Scorpio is a daily driver in New York City and were told makes a cool performance sedan. James Deberry engineered the install kit for the owner and plans on making the kit available to the public.
George Hutton displayed his mint 1973 Mercury Montego GT, the featured reunion mark at this years event.
We dig the David Pearson #21 Purolator Mercury Tribute Car
The Mercury Montego was the featured model this year’s event. Building Y was packed full of 1972 and ‘73 Montego GT’s from proud owners of the Torinos long lost brother. Outside the building we also spotted and rare Cale Yarborough edition Mercury Cyclone II and a David Pearson/Wood Brothers Racing #21 Mercury Stock car recreation.
This silver Lightning was impressive in the burnout contest as the rear brake pads caught fire from all the friction.
The burnout contest was a big crowd pleaser as a diverse group of participants melted their rear tires. We watched as a silver SVT Lightning burned it up during the allotted three minutes and cheered as the rear brake pad caught on fire from all the heat. The front drive Taurus SHO contingent also impressed the crowd.
Even in these tough economic times, the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals Event continues to impress with a great turnout. Ford increased its involvement and display space and the Ford entusiasts turned out in droves to see all the great cars.
