| | | c4 transmission hey i have a 92 mustang with a 347 and a mighty might c4 the tail shaft seal is leaking, i have replaced the seal and it still leakes, so i replaced the seal again and replaced the yoke, and it is still leaking, it is not over full with fluid and the vent is not stopped up, the transmission has only about 700 miles since it was rebuilt. if you have any ideas please let me know, its driving me crazy. i should have left the tremec in i guess. thanks James |

| | | Not sure where the leak may be coming from because my first guess you already replaced...(tailshaft seal) Other than the leak are you satisfied with a C-4? Is it a street car or just a track car? I am looking to can the 5 spd in my GT (HCI-306) for a well prepped C-4.

| | | Just a thought; have you checked the tailshaft housing for cracks. Some applications I have seen where the tranny is solid mounted, cracks appear in the tail shaft housing. You might want to get in there with an inspection mirror so you can see all around the tail shaft housing. |

| | | I have seen it done some "crude" ways, cutting the bushing with a chisel
and taking it out and installing the new one with wood and different pipes.
The way I would suggest is like I did. I took it to the trans shop
and in a matter of 5 minutes they were done and charged me like $10....
That was with the trans out of the car...Hope this helps keep us updated. |

James. | I believe taking your transmission to a transmission shop is the easiest and quickest way to ensure your transmission will be repaired correctly.
