ATI's Answer To Busted Thrust Bearing On High Horsepower Turbo Cars
Trade shows like PRI are always perfect places for companies to showcase their latest and greatest products. ATI was one of those, displaying their new Super Stop. Designed for the high boost turbo cars in mind, this product is designed to hold the torque converter in the right place and keep it off the thrust bearing. What can happen, especially on turbo cars as they build boost in staging, is the pressure of the fluid running thought the torque converter will push it toward the engine to the point that it can destroy the the thrust bearing.

To counter this, ATI’s Super Stop uses a thin plate that is mounted between the transmission and the engine that serves as the mounting point for the six small rollers to be attached around the converter. When combined with the extra ring that is welded to the outside of the torque converter, this seemingly simple design is what ATI claims is the answer to the thrust bearing problem commonly found on high horsepower turbo racecars.

• Can Be Adapted To Any Torque Converter
• Keep Your Same Driveshaft
• Protects The Thrust Bearing
• Currently Being Considered For SFI Scatter Shield Approval.
