| Exhaust Collector Length I have been working on my modified car, getting ready for the race season, and I picked up a set of adjustable exhaust headers and collectors. One of the old timers explained to me that I should mount them together, put them on the car, then draw a crayon line down the length of the collector. He told me to make one or two laps then check the crayon line.
According to the old timer, the crayon line will be discolored or burned at a spot along the collector, and that is where I need to trim the collector to.
I've learned to trust what most of these old timers tell me, but I wanted to check if anyone else has used the crayon test method for determining the length of your collectors. |
