You have never seen a car battery like this before. Obviously, neither did SEMA because they won the “Best New Racing Product” award at the 2008 SEMA Show. This three pound (3 Lb.) battery (that’s not a typo) is designed for race cars running on a 16 volt system and no alternator. The battery is made from a slew of lithium ion batteries in one.
There is a central brain that monitors the batteries performance and will shut down cells if it detects a problem. This is critical because lithium ion can be very dangerous if not monitored properly. Additionally, you can select the amount of volts (up to 16) that it puts out. They also sell conventional 12 volt systems that are not adjustable and weigh just a pound more.
Ultra Torque HS Starter
This is the same motor that they use with their Ultra Torque starter, but with a different gearbox. The HS version allows for more cranking speed, reported in the 175-200 RPM range. If you have a lower compression motor that needs higher cranking RPM, this starter is for you. On a high compression engine, the original Ultra Torque may be a safer bet.
