While we all wait with baited breath for Ford to officially announce the return of the 5.0, there is no shortage of aftermarket tuners who would rather take matters into their own hands. While there are plenty of Mustangs variants that cater to a variety of tastes, few look as mean or promising as the Reed Speed SEE twin turbo.
Details are scant and
Autoblog has only renderings to look at, but good things come to those who wait.
Reed Speed has partnered with
Artisan Performance, the same guys developing a 600 horsepower twin-turbo Camaro. Together, they are throwing a bunch of performance goodies at the Mustang with hopes of more than doubling the 4.6 liters 320 horsepower - with the goal here is 700 horsepower. This means new forged internals, including pistons, rods, and
Total Seal rings. The compression is dropped so the turbos can be boosted to 12 psi, and the twin turbochargers will be rear mounted under the Mustang’s chassis. The Reed Speed SSE Mustang will only be available with a manual gear box, the way it should be.
The exterior gets touched up too, with a body kit that widens the Mustang by 1.5 inches in front and 3.0 inches out back. 14” rotors supplied by
SSBC replace the stock brakes, and 20”
iForged custom wheels add some bling to this badass. A two-tone
BASF sets the car apart and smoked lenses add a deceptive, mean look that will scare the tail pipes off of any stock muscle cars. No word on pricing or availability but the SSE should be hitting selective driveways sometime this summer.
