The NMRA 5th Annual Aeromotive Ford Nationals to be held at Milan Dragway June 13-15 will not only be a celebration of Fathers Day, it will also be a Ford employee appreciation day. All Ford employees will receive free admission on Sunday June 15th. For the celebration the NMRA is bringing in
Aeromotive Fuel Systems Owner Steve Matusek in his 2007 Mustang GT 500 built by
Larsen Race Cars for a match race. This will be the first time an NMRA Pro 5.0 tripped the beams since Bowling Green's 2007 finale.
Matusek's twin turbo mod motored Mustang is capable of running quicker than 6.50’s at over 210 mph. Steve currently competes in NMCA’s Pro Street and NHRA’s Competition Eliminator class. Last weekend the Mustang was qualified number 1 at the St. Louis NHRA race, but a first round red light ended the day early. As of right now we do not know who will be racing against Matusek, but we expect the NMRA to pull another big name to compete in the match race.
Should be a fun opportunity to see a piece of the NMRA's past mix it up with the Pro Outlaw 10.5W cars of the future.
For more information on the event, visit the
NMRA's web site page of info on the Milan show. And of course, StangTV will be there on the scene covering every drip of the event. If you are a Ford employee, check out the NMRA's info page at the bottom for more specific info.
