| OK I'm a 2003 Cobra owner and I think the IRS has so many benefits from a straight axle application.
Listen not every road in America is not straight and the road do twist and turn allot. As you can tell in my pics that I love to drag race but having the best of both worlds rule. Plus for me the IRS in the drag racing application works extremely well for me...knock on wood! My car leaves like a bad ass cutting 1.50 60 foots and when I'm racing the car for 1320 feet the car goes in straight line. I remember the days of my 5.0 was a real scary thing to race down the track. I now the Shelby is better equipped than an old fox body but from what I understand the Shelby has limitations to its handling capabilities!! You go for a ride in The Vader's snake on the handling suspension & the snake grips the road as if it was on rails and with the power waiting in reserve for when the road gets straight.
I live in Beverly Hills and I've raced every kind of Ferrari and Porsche and Lambo out there and I always get the stare of disbelief when I'm hanging with them around the turn then smoking them when the road turns straight.
I think to have the option of having an IRS suspension Shelby would not hurt for an options upgrade but thats my opinion.
So that's my take on it, so let me know what you guys think.
