Knight Rider is back - TV show greenlighted
Knight Rider was a TV show that ran only for 5 years (1982 throgh 1986) but it touched millions of fans and reintroduced hot rod performance to an entire generation of kids that were used to 1970's fuel sipping econo-boxes. As we've detailed, this NBC show starred none other than the Hoff, David Hasselhoff, who was a modern rogue warrior battling evil as Michael Knight. KITT - of course, the star of the show, was an advanced vehicle with out of this world artificial intelligence.

Recently, the Knight Rider show was brought back in the form of a "For TV" movie that was broadcast in February. It featured a bad-ass set of Shelby Mustangs that recently fetched over $300,000 in the Barrett Jackson auction.

NBC apparently thought enough of the TV movie to green light it for a debut in the fall as a full show. It's expect that the same TV stars (Justin Bruening and Deanne Russo) will return. Rumor has it that the GT500KR's will ride again. The question is - will they be identical copies of the versions that were recently sold at BJ?

AutoBlog broke the story and also slammed the series return. Check out their story post any comments you might have.
