The pair of KITT cars that was scheduled to go up for Barrett-Jackson auction have been sold at that very auction for $300,000. These Knight Rider Mustangs were clones of GT500's are were never original cars.
Although you got both the "standard" and "attack mode" KITT Mustangs, in fact, one of the two KITT's is an automatic transmission vehicle. It's a hefty price to pay for a reproduction movie car, but everything sold at BJ seems to command a huge premium. One thing that really made it well worth it, and likely drove the price sky high - the winner also got the last 2009 GT500KR (yes, the KR which stands for Kings Ransom) which will be able to be purchased at list price. Other interesting sales at B-J include a 1967 GT500 Shelby which was Gold, (#659) which went for $190k...
So, what do y'all think? Worth it with the GT500KR?
Who has this kind of cash?
Sound off...
