Along with supplying sleeves for aftermarket blocks, the company also produces replacement sleeves for existing blocks where issues may arise or a beefier product is simply needed to cope with internal upgrades.

One such market that they’ve been able to tap into is Ford’s Coyote and Modular powerplant, which according to L.A.’s Nick Metchkoff, is susceptible to cracking at the boss. So L.A. has developed a flange sleeve to eliminate any need to weld the bosses — in turn, one can pump out more horsepower with less worry about failure of the sleeve or the block.

L.A. Sleeve produces their sleeves from a number of materials, including ductile iron, cast iron, and aluminum, and maintains a steady flow of one-off and custom work. While largely a sleeve shop, the team at the Santa Fe Springs, California facility does a little bit of everything engine-related from in-house service to the distribution of parts, from rotating assembly components, gaskets, bearings, and other parts for automotive, ATV/UTV, motorcycle, snowmobile, marine, industrial, and a host of other applications to complete re-sleeving and repairs.
