With the success of their SRP and SRP Professional piston lines, JE Pistons has expanded engine coverage significantly for 2014 and beyond. The SRP line has 104 new part numbers, and the Professional lineup features 160 new pistons.

“Small-block Chevrolet, Ford Modular, basically we’re filling out our product line with more bore sizes, more compression ratios, trying to cover all of the different things people are doing with their engines,” says JE’s Sean Crawford.

The SRP line is more of a conventional piston design, with a full-sized skirt, 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 piston rings and an affordable pricetag.

The SRP Professional line is the next step up, and includes a skirt coating, along with an FSR-style forging for light weight and strength. Also included in the Professional line is a proprietary ring pack, which uses a 1.2mm steel nitride top ring, 1.5mm Napier-style second ring, and a 3mm oil ring. “This is a high dollar ring set, but it comes included in the package,” says Crawford.

In addition to these features, the company has expanded their operations significantly during 2014.  The company has their own forging facility in-house, and simplifying operations has led to them operating on their shortest lead time ever – just two weeks from order to ship day. If pistons are ordered on Monday, they are shipping on the following Friday. All of their manufacturing capacity  has moved to Ohio, and Crawford says that the changes have provided serious benefits.

Crawford notes that their demand for custom pistons and their shelf-stock product has continued to grow, and the company is looking to hire a substantial number of new employees in their Ohio facility to support the demand.
