Meziere Enterprises is helping racers shed critical weight out of the engine bay with a pair of new water pumps.

“High-end racers are very weight conscious,” says Don Meziere.

By scalloping out some metal and going to a smaller motor, Meziere cut a full pound out of its popular hi-flow external pump that can be mounted inline or on the radiator.

“It now flows 45 gallons per minute and draws around 11 amps,” explains Meziere, noting that the new part number is WP386S.

The pump comes in a black anodized finish, features stainless-steel hardware and the inlet/outlet ports accept WN-style fittings that can mate with AN or slip-hose connections.

Meziere also developed a lightweight pump (PN WPL100S) for big-block Chevys. It also is about one pound lighter than a traditional pump and is rated at 45 gpm.

“This was developed for Reher-Morrison for use on their ADRL engines,” says Meziere, noting the final weight is about 5.2 pounds. This pump is designed to clear cam belt drives and even most Roots-style blower drives.

Meziere also showed off a new pump that is a direct replacement for the Ford Coyote engine and has a 55 gpm rating (PN WP336S). It features a fully CNC-machined thermostat housing, and the idler design allows the user to keep all serpentine-belt-driven accessories.

“It will free up 7 to 10 horsepower at the rear wheels,” say Meziere.

The Coyote pump comes with gaskets, hardware and fittings and weighs just over nine pounds.
