SEMA 2011: Zoops Does Front Drives And So Much More

Zoops is best known for their serpentine and V-belt Posi-Trak front accessory drive systems for classic V8’s, and at this year’s SEMA show, we got to take a look at a few of their applications. We also got a little glimpse into their future “Bespoke Concierge Program,” which will harness their experience in tying together different suppliers and managing complex projects.

Here's something you don't see every day - a supercharged MG!

For those unfamiliar with the term, “Bespoke” is something akin to “custom,” but with a deeper meaning. It’s about one-of-a-kind craftsmanship, tailor-made parts, and getting things exactly right. As an example, Zoops had two MG project cars on display in various stages of completion to demonstrate all the different components and participants involved in a bespoke build.

Zoops’ big block Mopar serpentine Posi-Trak system, like the rest of the line, is engineered to keep all the components as close to the centerline of the engine as possible, and within the perimeter of the motor itself.

For Bowtie big block fans who need maximum charging capacity, Zoops’ dual alternator Posi-Trak system can supply as much as 600 amps, and uses a short-style reverse rotation water pump. Like Zoops’ other accessory drive systems, it’s manufactured in the USA , hand polished to a deep gloss shine, and comes with everything you need to replace a V-belt setup.

Something to look forward to in the near future from Zoops is a Chevy twin supercharger system that will incorporate dual Sprintex superchargers, a helical twin-screw positive displacement design.
