Like a host of other renowned custom car designers and car builders, Neil Tjin and his Tjin Edition Tour brings new vehicles with Tjin’s famed touch to the SEMA Show, and each and every year his vehicles are an undeniable hit.

Last year, Tjin teamed up with a host of manufacturers, including Air Lift and Vortech, to create the Tjin Edition 2011 Ford Mustan  This year, Neil has stayed with the blue oval with an impressive and visually appealing new 2011 Ford Explorer XLT that’s being prominently displayed in the massive Ford Motor Company alley.

The goal of Tjin – one of the industry’s most influential designers – with the Explorer project this year was to take the already sharp, North American Truck of the Year and simply make it better from a visual standpoint – both inside and out.

Beginning with a new Ford Explorer XLT FWD with a 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with Ford’s MyTouch, Tjin amped the sleek, modern exterior with bold custom paint with striking accents, HID lighting, and LED headlights. As well, the roof features not, but two Webasto panoramic sunroofs – a Hollandia H740-II in the front and a Hollandia H735 in the rear.

Tjin also injected his passion to pamper to this Explorer with a full custom black leather and orange diamond stitched interior, along with a custom steering wheel and gauges, and premium Realm Audio system with 10-inch subwoofers.

The powertain is now composed of MagnaFlow custom catback exhaust with a Nitrous Express nitrous oxide setup with a carbon fiber bottle. The chassis sports Eibach springs with Baer six-piston brakes on all four corners. A set of iForged Concave Insite 24 x 10″ wheels wrapped in Falken STZ04 295/35/24 rubber rounds out the rolling package.

Expanding upon the aforementioned exterior modifications, Tjin and L&R Autobody finished the Explorer in DuPont custom paint with pinstriping by Styles Pinstripes. Light Wurkz LED headlights, Ignited Performance HID lighting, a Ford licensed Accessory bike rack, and of course a Tjin Edition a custom emblem complete the sharp new look.

Inside, you’ll find Glowshift gauges, an Escort Passport iQ radar, Scosch audio wiring and sound dampening material, a Braille lithium battery, Ford licensed Accessory rear seat entertainment DVD system, Recaro child seats, Ace custom steering wheel, and Trenth’s Trick Upholstery billet seats give the interior a fresh, new look that puts the finishing touch on Neil Tjin’s latest work.
