Great news for the Mustang enthusiasts from the engineering minds at Fidanza Engineering Corporation. Their new Short Throw Shifters for Mustangs have a reduced throw by 35% over stock OE shifters.
The reduced throw provides faster and smoother shifting for the performance racer or everyday driver.
Construction of Fidanza’s short throw shifters consists of 304 stainless steel that is CNC machined to tight tolerances for a very precise fit and clean looking finish. According to Burgy, “this construction process creates a shifter with smooth form and function for quick and effortless shifting.”
Burgy also explained that the shifter is constructed with a silicone damper that reduces noise, vibration and harshness which results in smoother operation and a more enjoyable driving experience.
Not only is the shifter manufactured for a precision fit, sealed cartridge bearings are incorporated for longevity. “Our goal was to make a shifter that offered long life performance and durability from day one,” said Burgy, adding “the sealed cartridge bearings are resistant to wear and outdoes the competition.”
The model we saw on display at the Fidanza booth during the SEMA tradeshow in Las Vegas was a 2011 Mustang GT model (Part #2011), and according to Burgy was competitively priced at $298.
