PRI 2016: Give Your Car A Lift With Race Ramps

There are many reasons that you might need to raise your car off the ground. Sometimes you need to work underneath it, and other times, it is just nice to have the car a little higher. Race Ramps has been helping enthusiasts and mechanics with their car elevating needs for a while, and when we found their new Restyler Ramps at the PRI show, we stopped for a second look.

For years, these have been built using a composite material that is lightweight, durable, and easy for the end user to move around. But, according to Bill Jonson of Race Ramps, they have made a significant improvement. Bill said, “Enthusiasts and technicians have been using these platform ramps for a while, and we have now incorporated metal into the construction. The metal is designed to hold magnetic tool boxes, and keep them within reach.”

The ramps are 14 inches high, have 10.36-degree angle of approach, and can accommodate cars with wheelbases ranging from 90 to 112 inches. Each Restyler Ramp is made up of five interlocking pieces with a combined weight of 110 pounds. As light as they are, Jonson explained, “Each ramp is rated to support 2,500 pounds per tire, for a total capacity of 10,000 pounds.” Once the car is safely positioned on the ramp, the center “bridge” piece can be removed from each side to give the user a place to stand or sit, or for easier access underneath the car.

According to Bill, “The Restyler Ramps come with two ramps, two center “bridges”, four blocks, and two stops.”

These are a convenient and portable setup for use in a business that is mobile, or for the home enthusiast – you can use them when needed, and then store them when finished. The Restyler Ramp made with a high-density expanded polystyrene that is coated with a hybrid polyurea. This construction makes a solid ramp that is extremely lightweight, strong, and durable. The ramps will not slide, scratch, or otherwise damage any floor type.
