Forgeline wheels known for their competition lineup had their new VX1R wheel to show us at PRI 2016. With a unique 5-spoke split design, the VX1R wheel is perfect for those who need a stylish wheel suitable for both daily street driving and weekend track duty. The Forgeline VX1R wheel is a fully forged 6061-T6 aluminum monoblock wheel which allows for plenty of room for even the largest aftermarket big brake kits while still retaining proper strength to handle all the abuse you can throw at them.
As with all of Forgeline’s wheels, the VX1R is available with a full array of customizable colors and finishes. Because the attention to detail that Forgeline is focused on, they’ve managed to create a wheel that is lightweight, great looking and excellent for all motorsports.
Forgeline had their entire lineup of wheels which include a variety of both monoblock forged and 3-piece wheels. During our visit, Steve Schardt told us that “the club racers were looking for something different” and so we now have the VX1R which is equal in strength and weight to the GA1R and GS1R while bringing a new spoke design to the table.
One of my favorite parts of visiting a wheel booth is seeing wheels in the various stages of their production. Forgeline one-piece monoblock wheels are fully machined from a giant chunk of 6061-T6 aluminum which is then whittled down to a lightweight, strong and stiff wheel that directly translates to great performance. With this new option now available for club racers, expect to see this wheel on high-performance vehicles at your local track soon.
