We’re sure a lot of folks would like to be in the shoes of Bruce Nelson or Steve Baisley. Why’s that? Well, it’s because both men were just recently awarded an awesome prize package from the folks at Tremec as part of their Power Play Sweepstakes.
The contest, which started in March and ended on the 24th of November, only asked contestants to fill out a form, give Tremec a “Like” on Facebook, and then wait to hear the results. The company announced the winners at the tail end of PRI, unveiling the cool contents of the prize: a brand new Chevrolet Performance LS3 crate engine, as well as a killer T-56 Magnum six-speed transmission for the Baisley. Likewise, Tremec also offered a similar prize to Ford enthusiasts, offering up a free Ford Racing 5.0L Coyote crate motor with the same T-56 setup for Nelson.
Two of the company’s representatives, Jim Averil and Nate Covey, were on hand to make the announcement. The winner of the GM package, Baisley, is a resident of Charlotte, and hopes to have his goodies stuffed into his precious ’65 GTO. Nelson, on the other hand, is a bit less certain. He sees himself putting the assembly in either his Factory Five hot rod or a future project, but tells us to rest assured that it will “find a good home regardless.”
We think you’ll all agree though that these fellas are in for a real treat. Whether a fan of the Bowtie or Blue Oval, the T-56 Magnum has proven itself worthy time and again with top-of-the-line technology and bulletproof durability. That’s because it combines the very best from Tremec’s current OEM technologies and melds it with the legendary features of the TKO 5-speed.
Start with 700 lb-ft. of torque capability, add in definitive, smooth shifting, as well as multiple shifter locations & dual speedo pickups, and it all sums up to a transmission that’s just begging to be taken to the track.
