PRI 2010: Wiseco Performance Products, Pistons and Short Block

Wiseco’s Ralph Johnson called us over to their booth at the 2010 PRI trade show so that we could see a few additions to their product line. Johnson was pretty excited about Wiseco’s new 2011 5.o liter DOHC V8 Stroker short block which uses Wiseco and K1 rotating components in a ERL 95mm sleeved block.  If you’ve ever wanted a 351 cubic inch (5.8 liter) stroker, this might be the right way to get started.

The 351 stroker uses a combination of Wiseco and K1 Technologies stroker components which includes K1’s 4340 billet crankshaft and 4340 billet H-beam steel connecting rods. There are several options in Wiseco pistons for this short block so you can select the compression ratio that suits your needs.

While we were at the Wiseco Booth, Johnson showed us the latest features in their Pro Tru and Professional Piston lines. According to Johnson, “The Pro Tru line are American made pistons for the sportsman level performance engines. The Professional line of Wiseco pistons can be custom made or off the shelf and they both support a higher horsepower engine.  The latest changes in these pistons is the Armor Glide skirt coating for longer piston life, increased horsepower and tighter dimension tolerances.”
