Don Lamana is another name to add to the list of X275 racers with his new car receiving the finishing touches over at Pro Fab Performance in
Thonotosassa, Fla. Lamana has been racing his Tremec True Street-turned-Ultimate Street turbocharged Mustang coupe for a few years now, with his most recent accomplishment a runner-up finish in Drag Radial at NMRA’s Spring Break Shootout, where he logged a personal best 8.16 at 169 MPH during the event at Bradenton in March.
Matt LaRue from Pro Fab Performance recently posted some photos over at Yellow Bullet of the build. Until then it was a bit under the radar, unlike some other recent and controversial builds.
‘We’ve been at this about two years now, from True Street to Ultimate Street/x275,” explained Lamana. “The little silver car will now be an index and Ultimate Street car that my wife, Jeri, will eventually pilot at the local events. I’ll will do double duty at Donald’s race in September, running x275 with the new car and Ultimate Street with the silver car. Jeri won’t be ready to go five teens in Ultimate by then so she’ll start locally running 6.50 index. We’re both rookies to heads-up racing but I think we have the tools to be competitive.”
