Daniel Herberth of Glassboro, New Jersey has been looking for a car to build.  Something a little different and one that could be large and in charge.  “You know how it goes, attending shows and noticing people having the same cars but with different colors or badging.  Well, I saw an ad for something a bit unique, a 1973 Mustang convertible.  I never saw what it was.  I just saw what it could be and I was hooked.  My initial goal was to build a show car, but since there was a group of Chevy guys taunting me daily by burning their tires in front of my house, I wanted to make a car with raw power that could hold its own”, says Herberth.

Herberth pursued his goal and built a faster and stronger engine which placed him in the Top 10 in the Engine Masters Challenge for Hot Rod Magazine.  Modifications for his 1972 Mustang include a NOS set up with 150 shot, roll bar, custom interior and trunk, race harness, Gerre built Stage 5 trans, Cal Tracs, 9 inch posi Detroit Locker rear, adjustable Rancho shocks, subframe connector, custom built 950 carb, Weld rims and M/T tires for racing, 351 C bored and stroked to a 408, custom grind crank and cam, coated pistons, and his car pumping 618 hp on engine and 780 hp when the nitrous is armed. 

Herberth has won hundreds of local awards but his proudest is the recent Second Place win in his class at the 2013 American Muscle Show.  “The name “Pig Vicious” comes from a man I met over twenty-five years ago.  He was a bold man and appropriately nicknamed “Pig Vicious” for the crazy stuff he would do with his car.  One day my buddy asked what I was going to do with this pig, referring to my Mustang.  Well, since I remembered the man named “Pig Vicious”, me owning three pot belly pigs, and wanting to have a car that represented my character and purpose, “Pig Vicious” the Mustang was born that day”, says Herberth.  Continuing to build a dominant presence in the car scene, you can find Herberth on local streets, attending car shows, or pumping out his car’s raw power on the track.
