Karen Loftus of Levittown, Pennsylvania owns one nasty Mustang.  Loftus’ Mustang has placed first at the 45^th MCA Celebration in Birmingham, Alabama, has placed first at an MCA National event in Dublin, Ohio, has placed second at both of the Ford Grand Nationals in Georgia and Maryland, has placed second at the MCA National shows in Canada, Virginia Beach, and Youngstown, Ohio and has even been featured on Speed TV’s show “Pass Time” in 2010.  These achievements are only a fraction of what Loftus and her 2003 Mustang GT have accomplished.  Even though most people have nicknamed her Mustang “Nasty” due to her aggressive appearance and reputation, Loftus’ bad pony is originally nicknamed “Vindication” and rightfully so.

Loftus has decked out her pony for both racing and showing with more mods than we have room to list.  Just to name a few, her 2003 GT sports Borla Stingers S-Type catback, BBK longtube headers and off road h-pipe for a more agressive sound. Under the hood there are Steeda underdrive pulleys, and cold air intake. Intake duties are handled by an  Accufab 70mm throttle-body and plenum. and oil is controlled by way of a Moroso 7qt oil pan and, Mishimoto oil catch can.

Out back Ford Racing 3.73 gears spin an FRPP limited slip differential and Moser 31-spline rear axles.  Gear shifts are made short and sweet via a MGW short shifter,  and burnouts are easier with the SLP Line-lock. Maximum Motorsports subframe connectors stiffen the chassis while their,  lower control arms work with  STEEDA Aajustable rear upper control arms and FRPP C-spring. All that go is slowed by Brembo slotted rotors, and sticky 245/45-17 Nitto 555Rs in front do their best to keep Nasty pointed in the right direction while, 325/45-17 M+H Racemasters in the back provide the traction. That sticky rubber is wrapped around a set of black Shelby Torq Thrust rims, measuring 17×8-inches front and 17×10.5-inches rear.

If you didn’t think that was enough, “Nasty” has more than enough mods inside to keep things interesting.  Virtually nothing on the car has gone untouched. There’s UPR 2-tone interior knobs, FRPP Bullitt Pedals, MRT billiard shift knob, polished shifter bezel, red LED interior lighting, Simco Classic Gauges, Kenwood In-Dash Touchscreen CD/DVD player with Navigation, and Mach1 Leather Seats.

Besides the car itself, Loftus the owner has been just as “Nasty” and “Vindicated” in the Mustang community with her reputation and desire to make a difference.  “I have been active on many Mustang forums, have worked with AmericanMuscle.com, and have been involved with the Mustang Club of America since 2005”, says Loftus.  “I am a Certified Judge for Modified and Daily Driven/Occasional Driven Mustangs and serve as the MCA National Regional Director for Valley Forge Mustang Club.  I am passionate about charities and would love to see more people involved with their communities.  I love to hang out and show off my ride with others and it is great when we can do this while helping raise awareness for a good cause”, Loftus continued.
