With the sun shining and a pleasant breeze, the rolling green hills of historic Valley Forge, Pennsylvania welcomed Mustang enthusiasts from around the region to attend the 32nd Annual Chester County Mustang show hosted by the Valley Forge Mustang Club (VFMC) and the Chester County Antique Car Club. With room for hundreds of ponies to graze, this show provided an abundance of beautiful trophy cars for Mustang enthusiasts to examine, ranging from first generation classics to fifth generation Super Snakes, and special edition ROUSH, Saleen, and BOSS 302 models.
Robert Parsons, VFMC President and life-long Mustang enthusiast, provided a unique view of the area’s historical Mustang culture, “The Valley Forge Mustang Club was founded in 1981 and for over three decades we have been devoted to enjoying and preserving the Mustang hobby just as our local area is dedicated to preserving historical landmarks such as Valley Forge. Our show welcomes all friends and family to attend in order to provide support for a number of charities including Wounded Warriors Family Support, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and The Lord’s Pantry. We enjoy the car shows, but more importantly we enjoy driving our Mustangs, meeting new people, and helping others.”
VFMC members Eric and Sharon Hawk, Jackie Dahlen, Tina Bauman, Tim Hammond, Scott Lay, Ken Lessig, Mark Pellechio and Fran Bruton, were actively greeting attendees and helping coordinate efforts to make the show a success. With over 150 first generation classic Mustangs in attendance and hundreds of Mustangs of every generation arriving from near and far for a solid three hours before registration was closed. VFMC member Eric Hawk commented, “It is great to see all of these beautiful car especially the rare classics, but for me, it is the people that I meet and spending the day in the sun that I like the most.”
For any Mustanger looking to help the community, cruise through a beautiful countryside, and enjoy a piece of our nation’s history, mark this event down on your calendar and plan on attending the next annual Chester County Mustang Show next summer.
